CEMETERY WALK – June 12-13, performances by members of the Jo Daviess County Historical Society of several of Galena’s famous and infamous characters buried in Greenwood Cemetery.  An annual event, not to be missed.  2 tickets to The Walk included with each cabin.

FOURTH of JULY – July 2-4, three-night minimum, relax in a lawn chair during Galena’s fantastic fireworks on the river, July 4 at dusk.  Pack a picnic basket of your favorite foods & beverages. 10% discount if booked by June 15, 2010.

GENERAL CHETLAIN’S BIRTHDAY – Help us celebrate Gen. Augustus Chetlain’s birthday at his boyhood home, Chetlain Manor.  Tours of the Manor House available this weekend only.  Mint juleps on the veranda Saturday night at 5 pm.  Bonfire with hot dogs and marshmallows at 9 pm.  Stay in the original Chetlain cabin for a 20% discount; other cabins 10% discount. 

LABOR DAY WEEKEND – Sept. 3-5, three-night minimum.  Leave the driving to us while you relax on a 4-hour trolley ride in the hills of Jo Daviess County, stop at Chestnut Mountain Resort for the fantastic Miss. River views and then tour Rocky Waters Winery in Hanover with 5 tastings.  On the return trip, see the Apple River Fort in nearby Elizabeth, Ill. 

COUNTRY FAIR WEEKEND – Oct. 8-10, three-night minimum, Columbus Day is Monday!  Take your time and really see Galena’s famous Country Fair, hundreds of vendors and food booths can only be appreciated during two days; dining coupons available at our famous Italian restaurants.  Buon appettito!

HALLOWEEN – Oct. 29-31, three-night minimum.  We have the best Halloween parade, and you can participate.  Or be part of the Pub Crawl…it’s a festive time in Galena, so bring your costume.

THANKSGIVING – Nov. 25-27, three-night minimum, don’t cook all that food, we’ll have coupons for restaurants in Galena that will do it for you.  Stroll the downtown streets at a leisurely pace for the best in Christmas shopping that you can only experience in the “town that time forgot.”

CHRISTMAS PACKAGE – Dec. 1 – Jan. 6 (except New Year’s weekend)  Escape to an old-fashioned Christmas in an authentic 1860’s log cabin.  Rustic Christmas trees in each cabin.  How about a sleigh ride?  If the snow cooperates, we’ll arrange for a ride around the countryside in a horse-drawn sleigh and old jingle bells.  Keepin’ it simple.

NIGHT OF THE LUMINARIA – Dec. 17-18.  If you want a real Christmas experience, see Galena aglow with thousands of luminaries lining the streets, the steps from downtown up the steep hills, the parkways, the sidewalks, the balconies.  It’s magical. 

NEW YEAR’S PACKAGE – Dec. 31-Jan. 2, three-night minimum.  Don’t like the glare of city lights?  Relax in the peaceful countryside of our log cabin retreat.  Champagne and hors d’oeuvres in the cabin upon arrival and a warm fire to get you started.  Soak in the 2-person tub, watch a movie, enjoy our comfy beds.  Reconnect and re-energize in peace and quiet.
